It’s been a month since we’ve been back in the Congo. When we arrived after a long and not so pleasant experience flying back, there was no electricity (only one candle in the house), no water, and no food. It was hard getting back to life in Congo. The first morning in Kinshasa, Sunday morning, Pastor Jean had to go to church by himself. Deborah and the kids had to stay behind and find water to wash and food to cook.
We got the message to start praying for water and electricity. We tried to get our freezer fixed (our big freezer and our only air conditioner broke down while we were away) so that we can go and by food (still not working) and we bought a refrigerator. We did not have one since we first came to the Congo (not easy in this hot climate).
We are happy to report that, two weeks ago, we started noticing that water will come at least three times a week during the day. It allows us to fill our water containers for the week. The power has improved also, we are not back to the situation we experienced last year but it is close. Sometimes we do not have power during the day but rare are the nights we do not have electricity, unfortunately this night is one. Our laptop has a good battery which allows me to keep working even when there is no power. God answers prayers!
One of the prayer requests we have, is concerning the container we are expecting next month. We pray that God will provide for the customs, we never know what to expect with that agency.
